Create something that will make the world awesome.

I have a confession. One of my friends and I are a little obsessed with Robby Novak aka Kid President. This 10 year old inspirational speaker makes our hearts smile.

Kid President’s first viral video, “A Pep Talk” has been viewed over twenty-seven million times. In his pep talk, he shares gems like:

“This is life people… you got air coming through your nose… you got a heart beat… it’s time to do somethin”.

“Don’t stop believing, unless your dream is stupid… then get a better dream and keep going, keep going, keep going…”

And the Kid President quote currently featured in my Facebook cover photo: “Don’t be in a party. Be a party.”

It’s Friday and if you’re like me, you’re counting down until the end of your work week — one that, perhaps, felt painfully long. Today, I want to share a little positivity with everyone that comes across my blog and hopefully make someone smile. Maybe you’re not where you want to be, in life, in school, or at work, but be positive about your situation and move forward.

This morning, I stumbled across The Chronic Positivity Project and I absolutely love the concept. Designer Mary Fran started the project to channel the pain she was feeling after being diagnosed with a rare, progressive and incurable neurological condition called Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) and undergoing several surgeries and treatments for the condition. She creates these amazing posters that feature inspirational quotes and messages of positivity.

“Being positive does not mean ignoring the tough bits, the rough patches. It means finding the strength to get through it, and doing so without losing your sense of self. It means acknowledging the worst, letting those feelings be felt and then moving forward. A positive attitude can make all the difference in the world.” – Mary Fran

What a great message. The Chronic Positivity Project is Mary Fran’s contribution to make the world awesome. I’m 24 and still figuring out what I ultimately want to do with my life. I’m not happy everyday and sometimes I worry about things that I have no control over.  However, people like Mary Fran and Kid President remind me that it’s okay to have those feelings, as long as I move past them. I’m not quite sure what my contribution to make the world awesome will be, but I know that no matter how big or small the impact is —  I will have one.

Happy Friday to you all! Be positive and be awesome!

“This is your time, this is my time, this is our time. We can make every day better for each other. If we’re all on the same team, let’s start acting like it. We’ve got work to do.”- Kid President
